Why does the Battery keep dying?

Corroded, oxidized cable connectors and battery posts drain off a lot of juice and make a very poor connection. Use a water and baking soda solution to clear the corrosion then wire brush both the connectors and the posts until they're shiny bright. Reinstall the cables and tighten. It should clear the problem. Starting a carb equipped vehicle you should push the gas pedal to the floor and let it up then start it. That sets the choke for correct starting when cold. If you hold it down, when it's cold the choke won't be in the right position to start.
