Joining police explorers Increase my chances becoming a uniform officer?

hi, Im byron and i wanna know if i become a police explorer will that increase my chances of becoming a police officer ? im 19 and i really wanna be a police officer when i turn of age and also going to get my associates degree in criminal justice, I live in Charlotte NC
