I bought a car a month ago.. Do I wait to claim it on my taxes next year or can I claim it this year?

I bought a 2006 Pontiac G6 a month ago, & it's financed through an auto loan. I know this may seem like a dumb question, but do I claim it on my taxes this year or when I do my taxes next year? I'm confused Ha....
